91, died peacefully on February 12, 2008 while a resident of Broomfield Skilled Nursing Center, Broomfield, Colorado. Marie was born to Albina Soukup and Frank Bina on February 22, 1916, in a log cabin near Meyer's Lake, Calmar, IA. She married Chester A. Overdier on June 8, 1936 in Calmar and in 1948 they moved to Colorado, putting down roots in Lakewood while building a home and raising their family. Marie was a full time mother and a homemaker most of her life, an artist, designer, quilter, gardener, and rosary maker. She volunteered her time and talents with the Rosary Society at Our Lady of Fatima, Lakewood, where she and her husband were founding members. Together they made thousands of rosaries giving most of them to the missions. She volunteered at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in Golden and also with Warm Hearts Warm babies in Arvada making clothing and quilts for babies in need. Marie loved working with fabric and was an excellent seamstress all of her life. Marie is survived by 8 children all living in Colorado: Paul Overdier (Penny), Westminster; Nancy Wasinger (Jim), Wheatridge; Sally Niemann (Stan), Fort Collins; Kathryn Myrick (Bob), Kiowa; Shirley LaWall (Jack), Firestone; Donald Overdier (Janet), Arvada; Wayne Overdier (Mary Ann), Longmont; Marian Overdier, Wheatridge; and by one brother, Francis Bina of Illinois, 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Overdier, an infant son, a daughter, Patricia A. Miller, two grandsons; David Wasinger and Todd A. Seitz, and five of her six brothers.
Visitation and Rosary Monday 5-7 P.M. Rosary 7 P.M. Funeral service Tuesday 10 A.M. both at Our Lady of Fatima Church 1985 Miller St., Lakewood, CO. Graveside services following immediately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held at Our Lady of Fatima fellowship hall after graveside services.
