Marilyn J. Chatterton

Marilyn Chatterton, 88, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on the 22nd of February 1931 to the late Marion and Aline Henderson and entered into heaven on the 10th of August 2019. Marilyn was one of two Henderson children, with a younger brother William. After her many years of mandatory schooling had passed, Marilyn graduated from Oregon State University in 1953 and received a BA degree in English. In 1953 she married Keith Chatterton and became the mother of three children: Lisa, Sara, and Beth. After 16 years of residing in Vancouver, Washington, the Chatterton's relocated to Lakewood, Colorado in 1973. Marilyn was a stay at home mom until the passing of her husband, Keith, in 1980. Marilyn went to work as an editorial assistant for the Government for 21 years and retired in 1999.
Our mother was deeply rooted into many churches and had a strong Christian belief. She enjoyed attending church as well as listening to various church services on the radio and TV. Her heart was the happiest when she was serving those in need. Her love for her family was endless. Her time spent with her 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren was priceless to her. She would donate her time and money to help support various outreach programs which also included helping many fine furry friends as she loved and cared deeply for her many pets. There must have been a sign on her door somewhere that said, "All animals are welcome," because it seemed like there was always a line waiting to get in.
Mother, you were a touch of heaven on this earth. You were endless with your love, generous with your gifts and always available in need. We thank you for that! Though our hearts are forever broken, it gives us great peace in knowing that you are in heaven united once again with our heavenly Father as well as our earthly father, numerous relatives, friends and our many animals that graced our lives too shortly.
