Marion was born March 13, 1927 in Handy, Missouri to Russell and Margaret Hurt. He was the youngest of 10 children. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Army just as World War II was winding down. He served his term, and then re-enlisted in the Air Force. Most of his 23 ½ years he spent at Forbes Air Force Base just outside of Topeka, Kansas.
He was married to Bertha in October, 1958. Together they had two children, Brenda and Luke. They moved to Denver after his discharge from Air Force, and he spent the next 33 years as a mechanic for Mountain States Ford.
Marion passed on December 1, 2019 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease and a blood disorder. Marion is survived by his wife Bertha, his children Brenda and Luke, and three grandchildren, Calvin, Marilee and Emily.
