Marjorie Mae Peterson was born in Valdez, Colorado to Elizabeth and William Looney on June 12, 1922. She had 3 brothers (William, Edward and Samuel) and one sister (baby Viola). Marjorie attended St. Frances de Sales High School in Denver, Colorado. She married Robert Peterson in 1939. The only job she had outside the home was working at the Safeway Bakery during World War II. Marjorie was widowed in 1982. She then enjoyed working as a child care provider for several wonderful families. She enjoyed many years of friendship at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She volunteered at the food bank and Bingo games. Marjorie was also an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She passed away on November 8, 2007 at her home in Denver, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Peterson and a granddaughter Leslie Goodman. She is survived by 12 children: Robert (Jan), Ronald (Teresa), Colleen (Richard) Clem, Sherry (Gary) Rielly, Jeannie (Gregg) Haycraft, David (Leasa), Larry (Debbie), Michael (Terri), Linda Smith, Gary (Melissa), Theresa and Christine. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Viewing will be Thursday, November 15, 2007 from 4:00P.M. until 6:30P.M., followed by the Recitation of the Rosary and Sharing of Memories, beginning at 7:00P.M. at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home - West Metro Chapel. The Rosary will be led by The Rev. Jerry Rohr, of St. Rose of Lima Parish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 16, 2007 at 10:00A.M. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3801 West Ohio Ave., Denver, Colorado, with The Rev. Daniel Norick, celebrant. Pallbearers will be Marjorie's sons: Robert Peterson, Ronald Peterson, David Peterson, Larry Peterson, Michael Peterson and Gary Peterson.
Interment will be at 12:00 Noon at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area / Shelter "A".
