Marjorie Marie (Hanners) Eggleston was born in Denver, Colorado on January 24, 1941 to Melvin and Dorothy Hanners. She had one sister, Barbara Hanners (Orr) who preceded her in death in 2000 at the age of 56, and one brother, Daniel Hanners who lives in Littleton. Marge attended Bramwell and Central Lakewood Elementary schools, Lakewood Jr. High and graduated from Lakewood Sr High in 1959. She attended Colorado State College in Greeley (now UNC) where she met the love of her life, Richard Eugene Eggleston, on a blind date. They married Oct 13th, 1961 at Community Baptist Church. They were able to travel to Italy, Austria, France and Switzerland when Dick was in the US Army. Marge taught homemaking and English at Bell Jr High and Dunstan Jr High. They were blessed by the Lord with three sons, Kevin, Steven and Brian. Marge became a stay-at-home Mom to raise her sons and ran a daycare in their home for 23 years. Marge was a member of Delta Gamma Club, Caring Hearts Bible Study, and Pioneer Girls at church. She and her family have been members of Southern Gables Evangelical Free Church for the past 34 years. They purchased land and built a beautiful mountain home in South Park in 1985. They lost their son, Kevin in 1991 at age 26 in an auto accident. Marge & Dick both retired in 1996. Their son, Brian married Kimberly Mills in 1999 and blessed them with three grandchildren, Jonathan, Katherine, and Jessica. Marge's family was of extreme importance to her and loved spending time with them all. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving husband Richard on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in their home, after a long battle with non-smokers lung cancer. Marjorie will be buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with her loving son Kevin Eugene Eggleston whom preceded her in death. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. When people hear her name she wanted them to think of her as a woman of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her goal was to walk the Christian walk one day at a time as God allows and directs. She was a true servant of her Lord. Donations can be made in her memory to Southern Gables Evangelical Free Church 4001 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Littleton, CO 80123.
