Marjorie Mayhew, 93, late of Westminster, Colorado and formerly of Colorado Springs, passed away January 3, 2009 at home.
Marjorie Viola Easom was born January 2, 1916 to Elmer Eliot and Mable (Culbertson) Easom near Rush, Colorado. In 1935 she married Charles Glen Mayhew of Yoder. Two children were born in Melba, Idaho then they returned to Colorado Springs in 1938 where Glen attended Immanual Missionary Bible College in preparation for church ministry. Five more children were born in Colorado before they moved to Albion, Nebraska where Glen pastored a church and two more children were born. They returned to Colorado in 1953 where Glen pastored other churches until his retirement in 1976. Shortly after celebrating their 70th anniversary at Myron Stratton Home, Glen passed away and Marjorie went to live with a daughter, Bonnie Hartson until she died.
Marjorie is survived by 8 children, 25 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren, two sisters, (Margaret Miller and June Reed) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Elaine Coloroso, four brothers and one sister. Surviving children are James (Shirley) of Canon City, Sharon Davis of Eaton, Thelma (Jake) Hardin of Sequim, Wash., David of Colorado Springs, Eunice (Bill) Cayer of Commerce City, Esther (Don) Johnston of Fort Collins, Bonnie (Eddie) Hartson of Westminster, and Mary (Bob) Marchiani of Colorado Springs.
Funeral Services at Faith Covenant Bible Church, 1311 Columbine, in Colorado Springs on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 12:30PM. Rev. Darald Hunt, officiating. Internment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado
Springs.
Pallbearers are Marco Marchiani, Bobby Marchiani, Jake Hardin, Scott Hardin, Troy Johnston, Doug Davis, Rick Mayhew, Ray Medford, Justin Medford and Craig Harbaugh.
