Mark Christopher Valentine was born in Washington D.C. on January 17th, 1963. He was one of five children. Mark’s family settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he graduated from high school. Mark continued his education at the University of New Mexico and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Finance from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After residing in Kentucky for 10 years, Mark moved to Colorado. He was employed with the City and County of Denver and retired as the Director of Finance after a 22-year career. Mark enjoyed Musical Theater and had a brief career as an actor. Mark had also been a member of the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus and was a lead soloist for them. Mark was an avid car enthusiast and relished everything and anything about cars.
Mark enjoyed life and his Catholic faith was very important to him. He had a passion for the outdoors enjoying camping, biking, and hiking. Above all, Mark loved people. Mark touched the lives of everyone he met. He was compassionate, opinionated, strong, caring, and loving. If you wanted honest feedback, Mark was the one to give it to you. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Doris and his beloved pet dogs Grace and Ina. Mark is survived by his 4 siblings: His sister Laura Valentine, his brothers Rick (Celeste) and John (Joanna) Valentine, and sister Dolores (JC) Martinez and a host of nieces and nephews. Mark’s spirit will continue to go on through his many friends and Greg, your loving Partner.
