Margie Marlene was born August 20, 1930, to the late George Morman and Nettie Louise Hassenzahl in the appropriately named Levelland, Texas. Marlene was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Maureen (Pete) Shepherd and Doris Darlene (Darlene) Hassenzahl, and brother, Leo Lavoy (Sonny) Hassenzahl. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Robert James (Bob) Shepherd and sister-in-law, Sharon Louise (Sherri) Hassenzahl. The family moved to the Denver area when she was a young child and moved several times until landing in the 9th & Lipan area where Marlene met her future husband, Elmer, and many lifelong friends. Marlene graduated from West High School in Denver in 1948. Marlene married the late Elmer Kuehn, Jr. on December 24, 1950. They had been married for 58 years when Elmer passed in 2009. Their son, Richard Lee (Rick) was born in 1951. Elmer and Marlene loved to travel and had been to 49 states, Canada, and Mexico. As a surprise for their 50th anniversary, Rick and his wife, Terri sent them to their 50th state, Hawaii. They also enjoyed the mountains and hunting with their good friends. Marlene is survived by her son, Rick and daughter-in-law, Terri, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. In her later years, Marlene enjoyed fellowship as a member of the Southwest Assembly of God in Lakewood. Marlene will be laid to rest next to Elmer at Arvada Cemetery, 5581 Independence Street, Arvada
