Marlene Mclaughlin

March 18, 1941 — October 24, 2019

Marlene L. McLaughlin, 78, of Littleton, CO died Thursday October 24 peacefully at home with her family at her side. Marlene was born to Earl and Hazel (Mouat) Frazzini in 1941 and was a Colorado native. She grew up in the north Denver area. She married Gary Kennedy as a young woman and had three children. Later Marlene was joined in marriage to John (Jack) McLaughlin. They were married for 30 years before Jack passed away.

Marlene was a dedicated employee for King Soopers and retired with them in 1994. She held several jobs over the years working for an optometrist and Costco to help support her family. She also had quite an entrepreneurial spirit. She and her daughter-in-law Carol ran a celebratory balloon business; she packaged her famous pizzelles; and she had the idea for pantyhose before it was a thing!

Marlene's family was her passion. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with a fierce and protective love. She loved her yard and filled it with statues of animals and wildlife. Every once in a while she enjoyed that trip "up the hill" with her bag of quarters.

Marlene is survived by three sons: Billy W. Kennedy (Darcy), Littleton; Dennis W Kennedy (Annette), Broomfield; Jesse L. Kennedy (Carol), Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Tiffany, Hannah, Seth, Allison, Toni, Jessica and Kevin and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Margie Paolella and her niece and nephew, Stephanie and Andrew. Marlene also had 12 step-children, Kathleen (David) Perry, Elizabeth Knight, Jeanette Pratt, Marguerite (Jay) Thomas, Colleen McLaughlin, Natalie McLaughlin, Patricia McLaughlin, Kelly McLaughlin, Barbara McLaughlin, John McLaughlin, Michael (Tanya) McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) McLaughlin, brother-in-law, and parents.

Service will be Monday, November 4 at Newcomer Funeral Chapel followed by interment ceremony at Fort Logan.
