Marlyce George, affectionately known as Marlyce, passed away on September 10, 2024, in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born on August 12, 1938, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to Robert W. and Dorothy F. Halvorsen. Marlyce's early years were spent in her hometown before her family relocated to Montana, where she graduated from high school in 1956.

After her graduation, Marlyce pursued a career that would allow her to contribute significantly to healthcare. She trained and worked as a Histology Technician at the Webb Waring Lung Institute of the University of Colorado in Denver. Throughout her career, she took great pride in her involvement in various research projects, making meaningful contributions to the field.

Marlyce's legacy continues through her four cherished children: Debbie Whitaker, Michael George, Kerry George, and Debby Peters, all of whom reside in the Denver area. She was a beloved mother who instilled values of dedication and hard work in her family. Marlyce was also a doting grandmother, leaving behind seven grandchildren and a remarkable sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lean George, who was an integral part of her life. Marlyce's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

A service in honor of Marlyce will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, at 1 PM, where friends and family will gather to celebrate her life and legacy.
