Marshall Hopkins

Marshall Floyd Hopkins, born on June 13, 1931 in Pendleton, Madison County, Indiana to his loving parents, Walter and Mary Hopkins. Graduated from Noblesville High School in Noblesville, Indiana in May, 1949 and he served as President of his senior class. He joined the Airforce of the United States on February 6, 1950. Marshall obtained an Honorable Discharge on February 5, 1954 as a Staff Sergeant. Attended Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana for three years. He was a recipient of the Purdue Academic Honors Award as a Freshman in Engineering.

He was married to Betty Lou Noble on September 16, 1951, in the Christian Church in Cicero, Indiana. There were 5 children born from this union.

He worked as a salesman and an electronic technician for most of his career.

Marshall died on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at age 77 as a resident of Arvada, Colorado. He is survived by his wife Betty of almost 57 years; children: Caroline (Rick) Whitt, Duane Hopkins, Cindy (Steven) Smetak, Julie (Don) Gutjahr and Brenda (Dave) Rowell; siblings: Virginia (Melvin) Fisher, Donna (Wayne) Renicker, Barbara (Roy) McGee, Dennis (Betty) Hopkins and Marilyn (Eldon) Ladd; 16 grandchildren: Josh, Sarah, Jessie, Jennie, Valerie, Jason, Doug, Brandon, Tony, Tamara, Zeb, Karen, Debra, Jeff, Forrest and Jared; 15 great grandchildren: Rylie, Taylor, Josh, Daniel, Devon, Ali, Ashlee, Jake, Isaac, Caleb, Lizzie, Jaclyn, Jenna, Veronica, and Ian; preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandchild, Jake.

Memorial Service on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Living Grace Christian Fellowship, 11700 West 8oth Avenue, Arvada, CO.

Military Honors on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 2:30 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "B", 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80235.
