September 23, 1937 – August 25, 2007

Loving wife of Patrick Madrid, mother of Raymond (Carrie) and grandmother of
Josh and Benj. Daughter of Eumelia Maestas and the late Toribio Maestas.
Sister to Virginia (Gene) Sandoval, Annie (Dan) Martinez, Stella (J.T.)
Spurlock, and Pete Maestas. She is survived by many family members
including nieces, nephews, and friends.

Martha was born in Raton, New Mexico on September 23, 1937. Martha lived in
Hoehne, Colorado. After graduating from Hoehne High School she worked at
various jobs. She moved to Denver and started dating Patrick Madrid. They
were married on August 29, 1959.

Martha worked for Nationwide City Corps, Chase as a secretary for
thirty-seven years.
Martha was a devoted mother to her son Raymond and to her two grandsons Josh
(12) and Benj (8).

Martha was diagnosed with breast cancer eleven years ago. She was in
remission for 8 years. Two and a half years ago the cancer returned when
she began the final battle of her life.

She was a very devout Catholic who believed in the power of the Holy Rosary,
which she prayed constantly. She loved and believed in her Catholic Faith
Strongly.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, a member of the Hearts of the
Knights, a lecture of the readings, and a member of the choir for many
years. As a Eucharistic minister Martha would bring the Holy Eucharist to
her homebound mother every Sunday.

Martha was loved by everyone who met her. She was a wonderful person with a
very big heart and will be missed very much.
