Marvin W. Gunther, 90, of Lakewood, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019.
He was born to the late Ernest and Gertrude Gunther, December 17, 1928, in Denver, Colorado. Marvin attended Ellsworth Elementary School, Gove Junior High, and graduated from South High School in 1945 and then entered the Navy in 1946. He married the late Genevieve Gulde on June 14, 1951.
Marvin owned Gunther Construction for many years, building residential/commercial buildings and remodeling homes. He enjoyed volunteering at the church, playing golf, bowling, elk hunting, leading a Bible Study group, and playing Bridge. He ushered at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years. He loved the Lord!
Marvin is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn, five children: Diana (Bernie), Daniel (fiancé Kathryn), Douglas (Annette), Donna (Andrew), David (Margaret) and stepdaughter Lisa. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Brian, Sean, Melissa, Casey, Nicole, Allegra, Victoria, Trisha, and Tessa; eight great-grandchildren Anthony, Auralia, Leilani, Blakeley, Jace, Charlie, Edison, and Allie, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold, and daughter Karen.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Bethlehem Lutheran Church for either Lifelight Ministry or LWML (Lutheran Womens Missionary League).
