Mary Ann Shear
SHEAR, Mary Ann, age 81, of Aurora passed away at her home in Aurora on Thursday, May 15, 2008 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Shear of 41 years, sons Jim Osler and wife Joanne, Chris Shear and wife Shawn; daughters Johnna Fields, Judy Frushour and husband George, Tonya Sosebee and husband Jack; grandchildren Dina, Tani, Wesley, Chelsey, Morgan, Brandon, Devon, Samantha, Kailee, Austen, Dustin, Ian, Arin, Nathan and Evan; great grandchildren Trevor, Tyler, Shayla, Kimberly, Jaden, Skye, Noah, Peytyn, Devon Jr. and Carter; sister Theresa Jones, brothers Arlo Osler and Alvin Osler and many nieces and nephews. She was a hard working woman who placed her family first. She was the model of what a wife, mother and grandmother should be. She was the corner stone and pillar for her family, which was proven day in and day out. Very few people can say that they knew Mary Ann, but she was loved by all. She touched the lives of many people in ways only they knew. We will cherish the memories of her being a firm leader with a loving hand. The emptiness our hearts feel is immeasurable; however, we are comforted knowing that she's been set free. She's no longer a prisoner of the disease. Mary Ann has her wings and is an angel amongst angels. She will continue to watch and guide us, as she has always done. We are saddened and pained by your departure, but we will be reunited again. Mary Ann wouldn't want us to be sad, but to celebrate her life. Babe, Mom, Nana, Old Nana, Toots we love you and miss you. We hope that we have made you proud, for we are so proud and honored to have known and loved you. Goodbye means forever, but you are not gone, as we will all carry you in our hearts forever. The time has come for her family and friends to remember and honor her throughout their daily lives, for it is time for her to be set free so she may walk the streets paved of gold, smelling the tulips. We love you.
The family requested that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation in lieu of flowers.
