From nursing school, Mary Ann was looking for adventure outside of Wisconsin. She and a nursing friend set out for Portland, Oregon, where she worked in one of the local hospitals. In 1952 Mary Ann relocated to Denver, Colorado, where she moved in with five other nurses. Mary Ann worked as a nurse at Rose Memorial Hospital and spent time off picnicking, hiking, and dancing at the Taylor Supper Club.

In the spring of 1955 she met Paul Weber, a sales engineer for Ingersoll-Rand. They married on November 26, 1955. In 1956 they moved to the 1st of their four residences in what was unincorporated Jefferson County at the time, and eventually became the city of Lakewood.

In 1959 Mary Ann retired from nursing to devote her time to their children. Between school and summer sport activities Paul and Mary Ann found time to travel. The family visited relatives in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Wisconsin, and took several annual vacations towing their tent trailer across the western US and into Canada.
In 1988 Paul and Mary Ann purchased a vacation home in the mountain town of Dillon Colorado. They spent time renovating the home, and relaxing and enjoying the Colorado Rockies with friends and family.
As the children left the nest, Paul and Mary Ann continued traveling together, although without the trailer, to places as far as Alaska, the Panama Canal, Scandinavia, Ireland, New Zealand and many European countries. They also travelled in the US and Canada, and attended three Bronco's Super Bowls.

They became Bronco season ticket holders in the 1st year of the team's existence in 1960. In addition to Bronco's games, they were frequently seen cheering on their grandchildren in their many passions from sports to music, cheerleading to school theatrical performances.

Faith and Service were weaved into Paul and Mary Ann's daily lives. Both spent time worshiping and volunteering at Messiah Lutheran Church, they were members since their wedding in 1955. Mary Ann was active at Messiah and met regularly with other ladies in the Mariam Circle.

Mary Ann also volunteered at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Paul and Mary Ann volunteered as "Ambassadors" at Denver International Airport sporting their cowboy hats, string ties and western vests helping travelers find their way around the airport. They also spent a lot of time visiting fellow church members and friends who were homebound.

Mary Ann enjoyed outdoor activities, including skiing, which she did with her children, as well as ice skating, which she did not only did with her children, but also her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would swim daily in the summers up until they moved out of their townhome in 2017. After that she walked daily outside until a few months ago.

Mary Ann was actively involved in lives of her grandchildren, helping to raise them on a number of occasions.
