Maria Conception Rael-Fresquez, 72, widow of the late Edward Fresquez of Trinidad was called home by her Lord on February 27, 2006. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Esteban Rael, Sofia Muniz and her sisters Teresa Montoya, Flora Gurule and brother, Victor Rael.
Maria was born on October 9, 1933 in Trinchera, CO to Juan Esteban Rael and Sofia Muniz. Surviving siblings include Arthur Rael (Denver), Beatrice Gallegos, (Denver), Lillian Flores (Denver), Anna Rael (Pocatello, ID), Alice Lovato (Colorado Springs), Mercedes Rael, (Denver).
Maria married Edward Fresquez on Saturday, July 31, 1954 in Raton, NM. Maria lived most of her life in Trinidad, CO and was a homemaker to 9 children. Surviving children include; Lynda (Michael) Tafoya, Albuquerque, NM, Edward Fresquez, Jr.(Debra), Denver, Gloria (William) Clouse, Denver, Laurie Fresquez, Aurora, Joanie (Joe) Armendarez, Westminster, Roger Fresquez, Denver, Kenny Fresquez, Denver, Trina (Ken) Martinez, Thornton, Andrea Mendoza, Denver. Maria also was a step mother to Patricia (Felix) Richardson, CO Springs, Margo Henry, Denver. Maria was a grandmother to 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grand children.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood, Co. Visitation and wake will be held on Tuesday, March 7th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held on March 8th, 9:00 a.m. at New Beginning Cathedral of Worship, 750 N. Chambers, Aurora, CO. Internment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Logan Cemetery. Reception will immediately follow at 3850 Alcott, Denver, CO. Family and friends are encouraged to gather together.
