Mary Celia Blackmon

July 19, 1927 — May 8, 2021

Mary Blackmon was born July 19, 1927 to Flavius Broyles and Mary F. Romero Broyles. As a child and young adult Mary worked on the family farm and attended several schools. After graduating high school she moved to Denver where she met and married Bertus Blackmon. Mary and Bertus were married April 2, 1955. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage and were blessed with seven children. As a military wife, Mary and family traveled the country during Bertus' twenty year military career.

Mary's time was spent caring and being with family. She also loved baking. Making cakes and cookies was fun, but eating them was even better. She loved sharing with her family so baked goodies were never in short supply. She was a wonderful Mom and Grandma.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, and a grandson. She is survived by six children, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Sweet memories of Mary will keep all our hearts filled with love and laughter. She will always be loved and always near in our thoughts.
Affections of our love and thoughts, until we are united again.
