Worked at Colorado Tent and Awning and at Gates Rubber Company in late 40s and early 50s.
Married Porfirio (Jasper) Cortinez on July 4, 1953 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Denver.
Member of Council of Catholic Women (CCW) and active in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Las Animas, Colorado.
Reared her family in Fort Lyon, Colorado and lived there from 1953 until 2009.
Founding member of Arkansas Valley Mariachi group, started in 1970.
Designed quilt tops and crocheted afghans for church bazaar raffles.
Volunteered for several years at The Nearly New Shop, a church-run, used clothing store in Las Animas.
Delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.
Served as officer of local chapter of National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
