Mary Carmella Mauro (DeRisi) passed away at the age of 89 in Centennial, Colorado on July 11, 2020. She was born to Sylvio DeRisi and Rachel Wood on October 14, 1930 in Southington, Connecticut.
Mary lived in many places such as Connecticut, California, and Colorado until she retired to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was a bus driver, antique dealer, but mostly a stay-at-home mother. She loved sports and enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing horse shoes, and bowling duck pins. You could always find her on the beach, metal detecting.
She was known as "Grammie" to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved life and most of all she loved her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Frank Raymond Mauro; parents, Sylvio DeRisi and Rachel Wood; her sister, Marguerite "Marge" Calabro and her sister, Maria Agostini.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Anderson of Florida; son, Brad Mauro of North Carolina, son, William Mauro of Colorado and son, Frank (Cindy) Mauro of Colorado; her sister, Sylvia Mauro of Southington, Connecticut; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Services were placed in the care of Newcomer Funeral Home.
