Mary Ann was born in Danbury, Connecticut, on March 25th, in the year of Our Lord, 1958, to Armindo and Anna Ribeiro, proud Portuguese. At sixteen, she and her family, now including her younger and only sister, Rosemarie, moved to California, where she completed high school.
During her two years of junior college, she met the love of her life, Steven Tam, a hard working immigrant from Hong Kong. On October 6th, 1980 they were married, and settled in San Jose, California. Two years later, she gave birth to the first of five children, and kept busy over the next twenty years raising them and teaching them at home.
In 2002, the family moved to Colorado, for a time living in Littleton, until they finally made their home in Bennett. Once there she directed her boundless energy and enthusiasm to her local parish of Saint Isidor the Farmer.
On July 16th, 2007, it was on the way to open the church doors that her journey ended, and the gates of Paradise were opened to her instead.
Ever radiating generosity and kindness, she touched many lives, leaving each and every one better for having known her. She loved animals and the outdoors, white winters and green summers. She was a talented seamstress, and an unselfish hostess, always eager to have guests at any time. She welcomed friend and visitor alike, regardless of how busy she was or how tired she might be. MaryAnn was deeply in love with her Catholic Faith, and constantly went out of her way to help others. She passed on to her eternal reward while on such an errand, as the Almighty saw fit.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years, Steven, her parents Armindo and Anna, her sister Rosemarie, and her children, Jonathan, Amanda, Justin, Angelica and Nicholas.
