Mathilde Auguste White

March 18, 1930 — October 16, 2022

Mathilde Auguste White, born Mathilde Auguste Dietz, of Aurora, Colorado passed away October 16, 2022. She was 92.

Hilde was born March 18, 1930 in Wiesbaden, Germany to Heinrich and Else Dietz. She graduated from Städtische Handelslehranstalt Wiesbaden where she received vocational training in retail sales. She worked for many years in retail sales at both Gano-Downs department store and Sheplers Western Wear. A member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, her catholic faith was important to her. Hilde was an avid sports fan and could often be found watching Rockies and Broncos games. Her daily calls to family in Germany and North Carolina meant a great deal to her.

Hilde and her late husband, Henry, met in Germany after the war while he was stationed with the US Navy on the Rhine River Patrol. They lived all over the world during their married life but spent their retired years at Heather Gardens in Aurora where they were active in the community. Hilde will be missed by her many friends and neighbors there.

Hilde will also be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Auguste ("Gusti") and Friedrich Skoruppa; niece, Petra Hartmann of Wiesbaden; nephew, Joseph Stark of North Carolina; and many other family in Germany, Belgium, Colorado, Florida, and South Carolina.

She was predeceased by her parents, Heinrich, and Else Dietz; husband, Henry White; sister, Else Lis; sister and brother-in-law, Frieda ("Elfi") and Joseph Neureiter.

Hilde's memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21, 3:00 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church 2626 E. 7th Ave. Pkwy., Denver, CO 80206.
