Maurice Fredric Powell, 61, of Aurora, passed away December 25, 2017.
He was born August 19, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Richard and Catherine (Gunter) Powell. He was a graduate of Baldwin Junior Senior High School. He met Carla Biggers in February of 1991 and on September 22, 2008 they were married.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Carla Biggers; five sons, Patrick (Ashley Slater) Powell, Jason (Tai Garcia) Biggers, Javon (Laneisha) Biggers, Justin (Rebekah Castille) Biggers, and Jimmie Carl Biggers; daughter, Jessica (Shakir Williams) Biggers; two grandchildren, Patrick Powell Jr. and Jocelynn Biggers-Garcia; parents, Richard and Catherine Powell; sister, Maria Powell; and two brothers, Ricky (Lula) Powell and David (Deborah) Powell; very special mother-in-law, Helen Biggers; and a host of relatives and friends.
