Melissa Ann Hines

Melissa Ann Hines, 58, of Denver, passed away May 2, 2017.

She was born June 2, 1958 in Saint Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Eldridge and Dorothy (Knox) Dean. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and later obtained her Associate's degree in Business from Parks Junior College. On November 18, 1979 she married Willie F. Hines in Denver, Colorado.
Melissa was the center of her family who was always available with an open ear and honest words of encouragement. She knew everyone's secrets and provided advice with wisdom and jokes. Melissa loved her family and they adored her.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Willie F. Hines; mother, Dorothy Williams-Shabazz (Knox); father, Eldridge Dean; daughter, Marlinda (Anthony Sloan) Hines; son, William Hines; two grandchildren, Shafeeq Abdul-Muntaqim and Rashid Abdul-Muntaqim; three brothers, Jamil Shabazz, Omar Shabazz, and Andrew Shabazz; sister, Linda Dean; grandmother, Ida Knox; and a host of other family.
