Melvin Raddeman was born to Herman and Matilda Raddeman in Oak Creek, Wisconsin on Feb 13,1925. Upon graduation from South Milwaukee High School in 1943 he enlisted in the US Navy and served as a Radarman in the Pacific until the end of WWII in 1946. Moving to Badger, WI, he attended the University of Wisconsin graduating in 1950 with BSEE degree.
He married Eileen Chapman on Nov 29, 1947, together they raised 3 children (Michael, Nancy and Gary) while living in Jefferson, WI, Rockford, IL and Arlington Height, IL. After retirement they moved to Denver, CO to be closer to their children and grandchildren. During his career he held supervisory and management engineering positions with S & M Manufacturing, Arrow Inc, Barber Colman, Motorola, SKIL and Singer.
Mel and Eileen were happily married 67 years until her passing in 2014. They were members and enjoyed the followship of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rockford, St. Peters Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, Hosanna and Ascension Lutheran Churches in Denver.
Together they loved to travel and enjoy wonders and beauty of United States. Their travel also took them to Japan, Spain, and Africa. Mel always enjoyed watching football, he held season tickets to University of Wisconsin games for 35 years and loved his Green Bay Packers. He could often be heard correcting the referee or admonishing the players both from the stands or in front of the TV. He also enjoyed watching and playing Golf and Bowling.
Mel is survived by his children Mike (Emiko), Nancy (Daniel), Gary (Vickie), 9 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and all 10 of his brothers and sisters.
