Melvin "Max" Shiner, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022, with loving family by his side.
Max is preceded in death by his father, Warren, wife, Paula, and son, James. He is survived by his mother, Jennie, his two sons J.R. and J.P., his four grandchildren, Jimmy, Cassidy, Luv, and Johnny, his siblings, Judy, Betty, Frances, Bill, David, and Pam, and his many cousins, nieces,
and nephews.
Max valiantly served two tours in the Vietnam War during his 10 years in the Navy. Max is also fondly remembered for his joy of working with his hands, his love for collecting, and his tenure at the United States Postal Office.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 17th, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at the Newcomer West Metro Chapel, 901 South Sheridan Blvd Lakewood, CO 80226. Family and friends are also invited to celebrate Max's life on Tuesday, October 18th, for a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. at the Newcomer West Metro Chapel, 901 South Sheridan Blvd Lakewood, CO 80226. A military ceremony will be held, following the services, at Fort Logan National
Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236.
