Michael J. Boyer, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, in Lakewood, Colorado, at the age of 72. Born on September 29, 1952, in St. Joseph, Missouri, he was a man whose spirit resonated with love, laughter, and an undying devotion to his family.
In his professional life, Michael thrived as a traveling salesman, delighting in the connections he forged along the road. Yet, it was in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, where he truly shined. Michael cherished family gatherings, where his infectious laughter and witty sarcasm could light up any room. He was a loving and devoted husband to Cora, who stood faithfully by his side, and a proud father to his son Tony and daughter Melissa, who, along with her husband Josh, brought so much joy to his life.
Michael’s heart only grew as he embraced the role of ‘papa’ with open arms. He found immense pride and fulfillment in being a foster grand papa to seven children, nurturing their lives with the same compassion and love he extended to all. To him, family was everything, and he poured all his energy into creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Throughout his life, Michael embodied a rich mix of characteristics that made him truly special. He was easy-going yet devoted, compassionate yet sarcastic, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a hearty laugh. He took solace in his faith and approached life with gratitude and a happy heart. His hobbies were as varied as his personality — from fishing trips to dancing under the stars, he enjoyed every opportunity to celebrate life. Michael had a particular fondness for chocolate, especially chocolate ice cream, and he relished the sounds of classic rock and Southern Gospel, enjoying the melodies of The Eagles and Bob Seger.
His military service was as meaningful to Michael as any endeavor. Serving as a radioman (RM3) in the Navy instilled in him values of loyalty and courage, which he carried throughout his life.
Michael now joins his late parents, Paul and Judy, in eternal peace. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate within the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
