Michael "Mike" Buchanan, aged 64, was graced with a merciful release from his ailing body, early the morning of 9/23/2022. His spirit and soul have flown home and he is no longer suffering the pain of cancer. Mike passed away in the comfort of his own home after a very hard fought battle.
He was visited by both friends and family in the weeks prior to his departure and he was at peace with all those who loved and cared for him.
Best known for his love of music, especially vinyl, he will always live on in song. He was a gregarious soul who collected various things like hats and sunglasses and would often be a goof, and don such apparel, to brighten the day of others.
He is survived by 3 sisters, Sherry, Diane and Tanya, 2 of his 3 daughters, and 3 grandchildren, Katelyn, Liliana and Eddie. He has met his predeceased brother Jim and youngest daughter Rebecca, in heaven where they awaited his arrival.
His most memorable occupation was his business "The Furniture Company". He was in business for 15 years and showcased his strength, savvy business smarts and his hard working, determined, personality.
He loved life, loved having a good time and wanted to stay for many more memories but God called him home sooner than he expected.
He loves his daughters and sisters, and expressed his hopes that all of them should find happiness, balance and unity for themselves and with each other.
He was super silly! He was so… not perfect! And stubborn as a mule!!! But he was loved and valued more than he ever knew. He was looked to for advice and support and was always asked for help moving, lol.
He was also sweet, kind, and funny. He always tried to focus on the positives in life and was always brave when he had to endure difficulties or change.
He was one of a kind, and he will be greatly missed. God made him special and thankfully death does not mean "goodbye" rather it means, "I'll see you in a bit".
Aloha Oe', Pops, until we meet again, never forgotten and eternally loved, it was a pleasure to know you and an honor to be made from the same stardust as you. See you soon.
Your Ohana
We Love you
