Michael John Deruso

Micheal John Deruso, 62, of Aurora passed away on Thursday February 17, 2022. He was born to the late Alvin Deruso and Annie Mae Bernard, on August 20, 1959, in Lafayette, LA. He lived most of his life in Lake Charles, LA. where he met and married Anita C Valiare in at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in 1984 and moved to Colorado a year later.

Michael was employed by Scott's Liquid Gold for 25 years. Scott's was bought out by Elevation Labs where he worked until his death.
Michael was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He loved watching old movies of all types and putting together model planes.

Mike is survived by his wife (Anita), his mother (Annie Mae Humphrey) of College Park, GA., three children; daughters Latoya Valiare, Jacinta (Demetrius) Watkins, and son Marshall Deruso. Four grandchildren; Rheanna Valiare Mitchell, Maya Flakes, Kira Watkins, and Demetrius Watkins II, all of Aurora. Three brothers; William and Scott Deruso of California, and Lane Martin of Georgia. Two sisters; Bridgett Johnson and Daphney Evans both of Georgia and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents; Pauline and Marshall Deruso, and his father Alvin Deruso.

A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Monday, March 14th, from 4 pm to 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Tuesday March 15th, at 10:30 am, followed by burial at St. Simeon Cemetery.
