Michael Drinkard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024 after a hard fought battle of dementia.
Born in Arkansas, Michael moved to Denver with his parents, Bertha and Harry, just a month after his birth along side his sister Diane. After his father’s death, he was raised by his beloved mother and step-father Paul Minor. All whom he has been reunited with in heaven.
Michael was a dedicated and proud serviceman, achieving the rank of Engineman 1st Class in the U.S. Coast Guard. After his honorable service, Michael began a career as a carpet installer. His journey eventually led him to San Jose, CA where he became a successful sales manager for Crain.
Michael retired in 2014 and returned to Denver, a city he always held dear.
Michael's passions included traveling and capturing cherished moments of his family through photography. He was an avid golfer and a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos, enjoying many games and rounds of golf with friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geri, who stood by his side through life's many adventures and difficulties. Michael leaves behind his sons, Michael and John, his daughter, Chantelle, and his grandchildren, Trevor, Austin, Amanda, Liz, and Stephanie. He also cherished his great-grandson, Collin.
Michael's legacy is one of love, dedication, and joyous memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
There will be a continuation of the Celebration of Michael's life at Wrigley's Chicago in Golden following the services.
