Michael Lee Epler

Michael Lee Epler, known to most as "Mike" was 52 years old when he passed away on September 30th, 2023.

He was born in the state of Missouri at Whiteman Air Force Base on January 21st, 1971, to James and Elisabeth Epler. His father James F. Epler was a Staff Sergeant in the Air force and was a missile technician assigned to a unit in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) at Whiteman. When Mike was just a few months old our father was sent away on orders to Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Our mother, sisters, and brothers stayed in Missouri until our father returned to the states. In early 1973 our father was placed on new orders to Aurora Colorado at Lowry Air Force Base. Mike was a little over 2 years old when we moved to Aurora in April of 1973. He went to school at Laredo Elementary, East Middle School, and William C. Hinkley High School all in Aurora. Mike played little league baseball for Fitsimmons Army Medical Center in the early 80s.
Mike loved sports, Air shows, Airplanes, Motocross, taking pictures and building models. His favorite store was Colpar Hobbies in Aurora, he could spend hours in there with his brothers and nephews. Mike worked at Stapleton International Airport for Dyn Air unloading and loading the U. S. Postal plane from 1989 until that airport closed and the new Denver International Airport opened in February 1995. He loved working around the planes and stayed until 2001. In 2001 Mike was hired as a furniture stripper for American Furniture Warehouse where he worked for over 22 years.
In 1994 Mike married Amy Alexandra Mott on July 2nd, 1994, in Aurora Colorado and his daughter Kayla Marie Epler was born on November 29th,1995. They lived in Parker Colorado from 2001 thru 2022.

Mike is survived by his mother Elisabeth E. Epler of Aurora Colorado, sister Gabriella and her husband Mark Nelson of Aurora Colorado,
Sister Cornellia Kern of Aurora Colorado, and brother Geoffrey and his wife Arlene Epler of Salado Texas.
His wife Amy and daughter Kayla of Aiken South Carolina.
He is also survived by nine Nephews and Nieces from the Nelson Family in Aurora and Commerce City Colorado, the Kern family in Aurora Colorado, and the Epler family in Prosper and Harker Heights Texas, and Epler family in Moyock North Carolina.

Mike was proceeded in death by his brother Frederick John Epler on May 16th, 2013, his brother in-law Terry Dean Kern on May 11th, 2014, and our father James Fredrick Epler on November 18th, 2016.

Some of Mikes favorite things to do were watching the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies, and the Denver Nuggets. He also loved the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburg Steelers. He loved hanging out with his nephews and playing with their kids. He loved life and he loved to make people smile, He was always a hard worker and would stop to help anyone even people he didn't know. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. He will always be our little brother, we love you Mike, Rest in Peace little brother.
