Michael "Bear" Furtado

Michael Furtado, 61 from Lakewood, Colorado passed away on April 11 , 2021 at 3:24 pm at St. Anthony Hospital.

Michael was born in Braintree, Massachusetts on July 29, 1959 to Joseph and Beverly Furtado. He was the youngest of two children. He moved to Colorado as an adolescent. He attended high school at Thornton High School. Shortly after high school he went into the electrical field where he remained for over 45 + years. In 1980 he meet the love of his life Bonnie. He and Bonnie married on February 21, 1981. They shortly after began their family having one daughter Chantel. And a Grandfather to a grandson Gage and a granddaughter Haylie , Whom he loved and guided through their life.

He was a Mentor to his Nephew Shaun.

Michael has always been a thinker; even as a boy he wondered how things worked and how they ticked. So, when he was a boy he took a coffee can and a mixer motor and made a small blender. Mike was always two steps ahead of everyone else, if you told him he couldn't do it he was already thinking of a way to prove you wrong . "NO" was not in his vocabulary or "CAN'T" is a word he didn't exist to him. He was good to all who knew him . He never turned down a friend who needed help whether it was help with a car or a hand on a side job ,

He acknowledged anything you asked him to do and if he didn't know the answer he would get you to right person who knew it.

He Loved his Parents and respected them so much for the life they gave him . And a devoted Brother, always there to help his brother and his nephew.

A Great Career that he is grateful as his brother-in-law , he was a great and devoted teacher to them both as well as his friends. He had a way of always making you smile with a joke or a funny comment sometimes not even knowing it. And he was proud to be an American and very proud of our troops . Mike was a Loving and Kind Man. And the Rock to my foundation and will be sorely missed by ALL.
