Michael H. Jones

Michael H. Jones, 68, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024.

He was born to the late Hubert and Donna Jones in Urbana, Ohio. Michael served in the Army from 1973 to 1980. For 6 years and 9 months he was a Medical Specialist.

Michael met his wife Sandra in 1982 at their church. They were married in July of 1984.

While deciding on his career path Michael was a cook at Woolworth. He taught a cooking class at Red Rocks Community College.

While enjoying one of his favorite past times, fishing at Chatfield Reservoir, he was praying and asking God which direction he should follow, a cook or in the medical field. A medical device, red with a white cross, floated towards him which helped him decide to pursue a medical profession.

Michael attended Red Rocks Community College and Front Range Community College where he received his Associates Degree in Nursing. He graduated in 1989. He was employed at St. Anthony's North and Central. He later was employed at the VA Hospital. Michael also worked at Home Health Care and UC Health in Aurora.

Michael enjoyed hiking, fishing, biking, drawing and learning the guitar. He also enjoyed hanging with his long time friend Jeffrey.

Michael was also a minister for several years.

Michael is survived by his wife Sandra. He was preceded in death by his sisters Jana and Kelly (Darrel).

They had no children but a lot of nieces and nephews and a lot of doggies.
