Michael "Mickey" Tomczak, Jr.

November 15, 1948 — October 11, 2021

Michael "Mickey" J. Tomczak Jr. passed away of natural causes on October 11, 2021 in Aurora, CO. Michael was a graduate of John I. Leonard High School in South Florida who later went on to serve on submarines for the U.S. Navy in the early 70's. Michael met his future wife, Leticia, in Peru while in the Navy and would later rekindle their love later in life in the United States and get married in 1984 in Boulder, CO. They would have one son together, John Michael, in 1990. Michael and Leticia ran a family-owned import/export business, Judith Collection, where Michael would sell the company's South American goods at festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass and at universities across the western United States. Michael also co-ran the Judith Collection flagship store at Denver International Airport. Michael had an eye for business that he passed onto his son, and was his own boss for the last five decades of his life and had been retired since 2012. Michael would befriend any customer that came into his storefront and his bright smile radiated any room he was in.

Michael is survived by his son, John Michael, countless relatives from Peru, close friends from Florida to California, and his cat of 16 years, Black Cat. Michael was preceded in passing by his wife Leticia, father Michael Sr., mother Blanche, uncles Harry and Stanley Wojtkiewicz, aunt Vera Wojtkiewicz, and brother-in-law Alfonso. Michael and his wife Leticia will be buried together at Fort Logan Cemetery with full military honors on his birthday.
