Michael Ray Pierce

March 5, 1961 — August 22, 2021

In Loving Memory of
Michael Ray "Mike" Pierce
1961 –2021

Michael, known to many as Mike or Mikey, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2021. He was born on March 5, 1961 at Mercy Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado to Rita and Bill Pierce (both deceased) and grew up in Colorado, alongside his brother Ron. Mike will always be remembered as a beloved husband, father, brother, son, son-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to so many.

He loved riding motorcycles and in early August he checked off one of his bucket list rides to Sturgis 2021 with his brother Ron, sister-in-law Neisy, step brother Kenny and friends. Shortly afterwards, Mike succumbed to health issues and is now free from his pain and worries.

Even more than his love of his Harley, he loved people, especially children. As a Boy Scout leader, he was a father figure to many of the boys in his pack. A short trip to the store, gas station or corner market could take hours if he ran into someone to talk to….he befriended nearly everyone. Passionate about food and cooking for his family and friends, he was happy to blanch green beans, roast a prime rib or smoke extra ribs for his nieces. Mike strongly believed in protecting women and children and influenced his niece by showing chivalry in opening doors for his wife.

Combined with his cooking and his warm personality, he eventually won his father-in-law's favor by being a good husband and father. Mike was a loving husband to his wife, Lizana, of nearly 31 years, and proud father to their son. Mike struggled with his Mom's death (January 18, 2021), even though it brought him closer to his aunt Marylyn and reunited him with his brother Ron.

Mike cherished his Mom and loved his Wife and best friend for over three decades. Treasured his son Michael Ray Brandon, highly valued his brother Ron and sister-in-law Neisy and appreciated his brothers by marriage Kenny, Ray, and Jon. Respected his father-in-law Michael Jon, prized his aunt Marylyn and cousins Sherri and Garrett, adored his sisters in-law Katrina and Yahana, loved his nieces Mariah, Alexxa, Makayla, Dawn, Haley, and Bree, and nephews Aaron and Nate, and was thankful for his friendships with Tommy, John, Dave and Kevin.

He will be missed by so many who loved him and those he befriended.
