Michael David Willis

September 30, 1950 — December 13, 2024

Aurora

Michael David Willis 9/30/1950 of Aurora, CO passed away peacefully on 12/13/2024 with his children by his side.

He was born in Dayton, OH and grew up there but then in 1982 he decided to move his family to Colorado where he lived until his death.

Mike is preceded in death by his father Clifford Willis, mother Selma Buckles-Willis and brother Bruce Willis all of Ohio. He is survived by his brother Barry Willis (Angie) of Dayton, OH and his kids Gregory Willis (Jamie) of Kingsland, GA and Marsha Willis of Aurora, CO. He has five grandchildren, Nicholas 25, Bella 22, Grant 19, Carter 16 and Myles 9.

Mike had a love for sports, his favorites that he always pulled for were the Ohio State Buckeyes and Colorado Rockies, he would have loved to watch the Buckeyes win the Championship in January. He worked as an usher for the Rockies for over 20 years and made many lifelong friends along the way. If you ever wanted a tootsie pop, he was the guy to see and would always take care of the people in his section right behind home plate. Mike was also quick to correct things he didn’t like in a respectful way while taking care of others. Mike had a cat named Penny that could do no wrong in his eyes. He asked about her almost daily and she has found a new loving home.

Mike had many health issues towards the end of his life that really took a toll on him mentally and physically, he was all about quality of life and enjoying the little things and the beauty nature has to offer. He is no longer in pain and made peace. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. Whenever you think of him just smile! He would love that.
