Mikayla Anne Cox
Inspiring Mother and Beautiful Soul
Mikayla Anne Cox, 30, passed suddenly on Friday, May 20, 2022. Mikayla was born on April 29, 1992, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado at Lutheran Medical Center to parents Tamara (Tami) and Mikal Roble. From an early age Mikayla was a bright girl. She taught herself how to read at the age of four and through her whole life she put her best effort into everything she did.
On August 11, 2014, Mikayla's daughter Sophia Grace Nielsen was born and became her biggest accomplishment. Mikayla's nurturing heart made her an incredible mother. She enjoyed doing anything Sophia wanted like going to Water World in the summer, watching movies, and reading books. Sophia took after her mother in her aptitude for intelligence, proving to be a very clever young girl.
Mikayla is survived by her Mother Tami; Father Mikal; Stepmother Machelle Pens-Roble; Stepfather Ryan Daniels; Sister Hannah Roble and Daughter Sophia. She will also be remembered by several grandparents, aunts, uncles, and dog Honey Buns.
Mikayla spread joy everywhere she went. Her friends and family describe her as a beautiful soul that could light up a room. During the Summer she loved going to museums, the Denver Aquarium, and the Denver Zoo. One of her favorite activities was swimming as well as anything that had to do with her daughter, Sophia. Her mother, Tami, remembers listening to the way Mikayla talked to Sophia and how it changed the way Tami speaks to children. This shows the positive impact Mikayla and Sophia had on those around them. Mikayla was friends with everyone, she put her heart and soul into everything she did and will be deeply missed.
They say it takes a village to raise a child. We will always be grateful for our "village". Thank you!
