Mildred Hicks was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. There wasn’t a stranger in the world to her, and anyone she met she would ask to call her “Grandma”.Those who loved her will fondly remember her joy of anything crafty, from cross-stitch to puzzles, and especially baking. Cakes, cookies, any new recipe she found in a magazine, there was nothing she wouldn’t try to make at least once. Food was her love language, and no one left her house hungry. No one adored her more than her late husband, Horace Duane Hicks. She was his “Baby,” the beautiful woman with the red hair that he loved at first sight (unless she was being stubborn, then she was his “Boss”). For her, he planted roses, built doll houses, and filled rooms with porcelain dolls. Anything he could give her, he did.
Although we had to say goodbye to our mom and grandma, we know Grandpa was waiting there to embrace her, and they’re finally together again.
