Milton Simmons, 65, of Aurora, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2020.
He was born July 31, 1954 in Montgomery, Alabama, the son of Willie and Lula (Dukes) Simmons. He was a graduate of high school in Newark, NJ. He attended college.
On January 23, 1987, he married Betty Lang.
Milton retired after a 22-year career in the U.S. Army. He enlisted in 1973 during the Vietnam Era and Operation Desert Storm. His career started with the 82nd Airborne Division. Later, he was a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired from Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado as a Sergeant First Class with many commendations and medals awarded.
He was of the Baptist faith. Milton volunteered at Heritage Christian Center.
Milton enjoyed bowling and playing and watching basketball. He loved playing a good card game like poker. He also played dominoes. Milton loved walking his dog, Charlie Brown.
Milton is survived by his wife of 33 years, Betty Lang; mother, Lula Simmons; two brothers, Nathaniel Simmons and Albert Simmons; sister, DeWanda Simmons; mother-in-law, Mable Rigmaiden; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends and his cherished dog, Charlie Brown.
He is preceded in death by father, Willie Arthur Simmons and brother, Willie Simmons.
