Monell Johnson

Monell Johnson, 85, of Westminster Colorado, passed away Sunday, September 13th.

She was born to the late Willie and Atha Cleaver on December 13, 1934 in the small town of Dustin, OK
at the height of the Great Depression.
Still an infant the family moved to a ranch in Karval, CO.

For a better life, her father packed up the family and, at the age of 7 moved to Denver, CO.
She graduated from East High School in 1952.

She married George J. Johnson, Sr. on May 22, 1976.
She had two children from a previous marriage and is survived by them. Michael W. Calahan (wife Christine), Suzanna J. Herbert (husband Wayne), five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, all who live in Colorado.

Monell is also survived by her beloved husband, George, of 44 years, four step-children and six step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.

Monell's successful career was in the governmental civil service sector. She took an early retirement from the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center in 1984 and kept busy investing in buying and selling real estate.

Monell enjoyed the many cruises she and George were able to take in seeing all the wonders of the world. She was a dedicated member of the Jehovah's Witnesses religion where she was admired by all in her congregation.

A digital memorial service shall be offered by the congregation in the future.

Monell was very private and requested no traditional service be performed.
She will be buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
