Morris A. Dickhart

Morris A. Dickhart, former Aurora City Councilman, dies at 94. Morris was born on July 27, 1925, in Bowdle, South Dakota. His family moved to Greeley Colorado where he attended College High and played basketball on the state finals team in 1942. After graduating from High School, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served in World War II. He was a Pharmacist Mate aboard the USS Sausalito, in the Aleutians. After the war he began his 40-year career in the pharmaceutical business. As an Entrepreneur he started a Veterinarian Supply business and two other companies. His obligation to serve didn't stop with his country. He served on Aurora City Council, when the mountain water sourcing plans for the City were developed. The Water supply enabled Aurora to grow from a small community into the city it is today. He served the state as Sergeant of Arms for the Colorado State Legislature. He was President of the Denver Pony Baseball League, held leadership roles at Aurora Optimist, and Heather Gardens Homeowners Association. Most importantly his good example and generousity, and emotional support to his family will be missed. The Family is thankful for the many blessings he provided his family and Community.

Shirley, wife of 69 years, preceded him in death. He is survived by son Gary and wife Phyllis, daughter Pam and husband Kent Johnson, three grandchildren, Julie Dolhun-Adamson, Jeff Dickhart and Lindsey Johnson and eight great grandchildren. Thanks to The Denver Hospice, who helped facilitate his transitional journey to Heaven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to The Denver Hospice.
