M. Thelma Feese, passed away at Rocky Mountain Assisted Living, on her 97th birthday, May 24, 2023. Thelma was born Myrtle Thelma Humphries May 24, 1926, in Pueblo, CO, to Wallace Humphries and Ethel M. Nevitt. As a young girl growing up in Hutchinson, Kansas, Thelma belonged to the Salvation Army and her faith stayed with her to the end. She married William W. Douglas in 1941. In 1948, She married Clifford "Bill" Feese.
Thelma Feese was a leader in Camp Fire Girls, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was the family historian and published a book of the Feese family history. She was a member of the Colorado Genealogy Society and a volunteer at the Denver Public Library for many years. Thelma and Bill spent many years camping with the Mitchell Caravan, making many friends along the way. Thelma had may hobbies she enjoyed over the years including sewing, crocheting, knitting and especially dancing. She enjoyed square dancing into her 90's.
Thelma lived on her own from May 2013 until October 2019, when she decided to move into Rock Mountain Assisted Living and remained there for 3 ½ years until her passing.
Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford "Bill" Feese, children, Donald D. Feese and Cynthia Coovert Michael. Also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers. She is survived by son, William E. Douglas, his wife, Karen L. Douglas of Lakewood, CO. Marilyn L. Sickmon of Longmont, CO, and Son-in-law, Robert Michael of Westminster, CO. 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews also survive her.
Thelma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. However, we know she will be reunited with her husband "Bill", son, Donald Feese and Daughter, Cynthia Covert Michael.
Memorial Service will take place on June 8th, Viewing at 10:00AM, Service at 11:00AM and a reception to follow at Newcomer, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood CO 80226. Burial will be at 2:00PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
