Nick Pete Jaramillo, 89, of Lakewood Colorado, Died Saturday December 9th, 2018. He was born to the late Manuel Jaramillo and Naborcita (Rose) Mossman on January 10th, 1929 in Monarch, Co. Although Nick only went to the 4th grade. He did many different jobs like working as a painter on bombs. At 17 years old he joined the service and was enlisted for 7 years during which time he fought in the Korean war . During this time he also met Mercy . He Married Mercy on August 13th, 1947 when he was just 19 and she was 17. Together they had 6 biological children and adopted one more. Nick is survived by three daughters: Vicky Sifuentes of La Puente, Ca , Patricia Jaramillo of Lakewood, Co and Becky Garcia of Aurora, Co. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Nick and Mercy were married for 65 years before Mercy passed in 2012. Now he is reunited with the love of his life.
Nicks lifetime career was truck driving . He travelled sometimes for weeks at a time and made a very good living. He took great care of his family. He especially enjoyed time off taking the family camping and on picnics at the park. The trips to the park usually consisted of lunch and badminton. Camping was a time to enjoy sleeping in tents under the stars, having campfires and roasting marshmallows and catching and frying fish.
Nick raised his family between Denver and California. In 1991 he moved back to Colorado where he bought his home in Arvada and Semi-retired being the working man he was he had to slowly retire. He loved to drive as his favorite way to travel. He drove to many beautiful places to sightsee and would always say " Pretty " as he viewed the beautiful scenery.
Nick was an amazing man and a beautiful soul. He was a loving and caring Dad and would do anything for his children and grandchildren.
