In Loving Memory of
Norma Jean Parish
March 31, 1928-June 8, 2017
Jean passed peacefully at age 89. Jean was born to Edward and Gladys Cummings of Philipsburg Kansas. She is youngest of three sisters Vicky, Lynn and Jean. The family moved to Colorado during the time of the Dust Bowl in Kansas.
She overcame many adversities in her lifetime. She was a young mother and a widow with two young boys. She later remarried and had a daughter. She was a devoted mother and wife. She is also an Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Jean graduated from Englewood High School where she made lifelong friendships. She became a successful business owner of several small business that she and her friends were partners in and later became known as Queen City Enterprises.
One of her interests was league bowling and belonged to several leagues, she participated in the Senior Olympics twice were she was awarded a Silver Medal the first year and a Bronze Medal the next. She enjoyed Scrabble and rarely lost. Jean belonged to numerous lady's card clubs and hosted luncheons as well. She looked forward to the times when it was her turn to host these events. She loved to entertain any occasion and her calendar was always filled. The girls would celebrate each other's birthdays and sometimes would simply just get together to enjoy each other's company. Her other passion was growing beautiful flower gardens, her mixture of colors, design and imagination were spectacular. The fragrance of blooming flowers and the tranquil sounds of fountains completed an atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Mom had a strong faith in God and relied on it throughout her entire life in the good times and the not so good times. This and so much more is her legacy left to us. Mom has not left home but she has gone home to tend Gods garden, as was her greatest wish.
Preceded in death are her husband Bill Harris, Jack Dyke and Jack Parish, her son Stephen Harris, her sisters Vicky and Lynn.
Survived by her son Monty her Daughter Susan and April. Her Niece Debbie, Nephew Greg, Niece Sharon and two grandsons Chad and Lance along with many great grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be held at Columbine Lakes.
