Olga M. Koeltzow

August 1, 1931 — February 22, 2022

In Loving Memory of Olga "Ollie" Marie (Koehler) Koeltzow

Born ("in southwest corner of living room," per historical family notes) August 1, 1931 to Anna Amelia Verena (Rieschick) Koehler and Theodore Paul Koehler, and raised on a farm near Falls City, Nebraska, the youngest of three girls (sisters Thelma Ruth and Irma Lillian, both deceased). She loved growing up on a farm. She was baptized on August 23, 1931, and confirmed on March 25, 1945, both at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 6 miles North of Falls City.

After graduating from Falls City High School in May 1948 at the age of 16, Ollie attended Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska, to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a school teacher. In the fall of 1950, her first teaching job brought her to Bethlehem Lutheran School in Lakewood, Colorado, where she met her future husband, Arnold Eugene Koeltzow, who was doing plaster work in her classroom. Arnold had joined the Air Force shortly before they met, and they were married on November 30, 1952. She found great joy in her life as a military wife (traveling overseas, living in Germany and France) and as a stay-at-home mom to five children. She loved God and her family more than anything in life! After her family was grown, Ollie held various positions, her favorite being an overseas operator for AT&T. She enjoyed sewing in her leisure time and was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening, various activities at church, and being involved with Lutherans for Life.

Ollie is survived by all five of her children (and spouses) [Arnold Eugene, Jr. (Carla), Lois Elaine, Karen Eileen (Patrick), Martin Earl (Kristy), and Joyce Ellen (Tom)], 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both sisters, and her oldest grandchild.

Ollie remained steadfast in her deep faith and trust in God her entire life, and in her later years, she often spoke of her eagerness to go home to live with Jesus. She went peacefully and joyfully to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Olga's name to Lutherans for Life
