Olivia Karen Lewis was born on December 29, 1944 to her parents Mary Alice and Henry Butler. Six years later, a younger brother Henry Matthew Butler was born and the two forged a strong sibling bond. A Denver native, educated in the Denver, CO and Kansas City, MO School System, Olivia graduated from East High School. She earned her degree in Business Administration through Central Business College of Denver.
For 33 years, Olivia was employed by the University of Colorado's School of Dental Medicine. Upon her retirement she had developed many long lasting friendships, some with whom she counted as members of her family. Olivia was a kind, generous woman who enjoyed fashion, spending time with her girlfriends and doting on her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandsons. She was a fashionable woman who never left the house without looking impeccable from head to toe. She instilled a strong foundation for her family to place God at the center of their lives, work hard to provide for family and enjoy the luxuries of life. She enjoyed films, music, pop culture, traveling, her monthly lunch dates with her best girlfriends and time spent with her family. Disneyland was her favorite place to visit with her Grandchildren. She made sure they enjoyed every visit! Olivia loved the Lord. She worshiped and studied daily. Every Sunday morning, she worshiped with Dr. Jeremiah, Reverend Charles and Andrew Stanley. The day she and her Granddaughter went to meet Reverend Charles Stanley she was so thrilled. Knowing the word of God and sharing it with her family was a constant for Olivia.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Alice Chambers and Henry Butler and her brother Henry Butler, affectionately known as "Hankie". Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Leta Franklin and Vennisa Lewis, her Grandchildren Kia (Ron), Shane, Saniya and Maya and the light of her life, her Great-Grandsons Langston and Saivion and a host of loving friends, family and her best girlfriends.
