Oreen Elwell, R.N.

Oreen was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on July 21st, 1933, to Olaf and Sylvia Torgerson.

She grew up in Eau Claire. After graduating high school, she attended Luther Hospital's Nursing program. She earned her RN degree in 1953 and moved to Greeley, CO.

Oreen met Richard Elwell who became her lifelong partner and were married in 1957. They were blessed with their son in 1958 and moved to Louisville, CO.

Oreen worked in Louisville as an RN and was then blessed with a daughter in 1959 and another daughter in 1965. They lived in Louisville until 1966 when they moved to Westminster. She worked as an RN at Lutheran Hospital in Wheatridge, CO until her retirement in 1995. 

Oreen loved singing, dancing and teaching piano. She enjoyed composing, performing and sharing her passion for music with everyone.

Oreen is survived by her son Kerry; daughter Luanne and her husband Wes; daughter Amy; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Bernita, and 8 nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents Olaf and Sylvia, sister Marion, brothers-in-law Roy and Jim, granddaughter Alycia and son-in-law Rick.
