Orval R. Bays, 88, of Denver, passed on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
He was born to Leland and Bernice Bays in West Virginia. He was raised in West Virginia, but spent time in South Carolina and Colorado, before making Colorado his home in 1978.
Orval served in the Coast Guard starting in 1950.
He met Mary Louise while he was in South Carolina living with his sister. He met her through a friend and they dated for about a year before getting married.
They had their son Ben while they were living in Denver.
Orval was active with the Masons.
He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and driving new cars.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise; parents; and 6 siblings.
Orval is survived by his son, Ben, and his wifeVicky; grandchildren, Jacob (Suzanne), and Richard; and 2 great-granddaughters, Juliette and Savannah.
