Orville Dee Spears, age 94, passed peacefully on the morning of January 6, 2025, in Aurora Colorado surrounded by his family. Orville served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. After completing his military service, he worked for Ball Glass and OKC Refinery in Okmulgee Oklahoma. He retired in 2002 from Oklahoma State University, managing the vending department. He was respected for his work ethic, dedication, and honesty. Everyone enjoyed his interesting stories of growing up in rural Oklahoma with eight siblings during the Great Depression. He was a devoted Christian and Deacon at the Church of Christ in Okmulgee for many years and later was a member at the Church of Christ in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Aurora, Colorado. Orville was preceded in death by Jewell Lane, his loving wife of 69 years. He is survived by three children, Orville Wayne Spears and wife Raquel, daughter Pamela Murlene Turner and husband Brad, and Larry Don Spears and wife Ginny. Orville was also blessed with four grandchildren, Corey Feltner and husband Jarrett, Jayson Spears and wife Angela Jade, Sarah Pogozelski and husband Matt, and Brent Spears. He was blessed with five great grandchildren, Cole and Aiden Ponzi, Mia and Abby Pogozelski, and KennaDee Spears. Future graveside services will be held in Checotah Oklahoma for both Orville and Jewell. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Bloom Healthcare and Hospice and the wonderful caregivers at Garden Plaza.
