Pastor Danielernest Williams

October 1, 1946 — June 19, 2021

Pastor Daniel Ernest Williams, 74, of Aurora, Colorado, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, June 19, 2021, due to natural causes.
Daniel was born to the late Alma and Stanley Williams on October 1, 1946, in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from North High School in 1964 and pursued his Pastoral Degree at Denver Seminary. Dan married his childhood sweetheart, the late Joyce Williams, on June 27, 1970. Dan and Joyce resided in Denver with their two children and were married for nearly 44 years. Dan later married Shirley Williams. They were married 6.5 years.

First and foremost, Dan was a fierce lover of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; he was always ready to share the good news of Jesus' sacrificial love with friends and strangers alike.

Dan also had a love for great food and anything sweet. He always had a pack of Orbit Bubblemint Gum or a bag of Cinnamon Bears that he lovingly shared, often in very large amounts, with his grandkids. He was also an enduring Denver sports fan and loved watching a good ball game with his sons, grandsons, and friends.

Dan was always a preacher and teacher, even when he was not a full-time pastor in Denver, Del Norte, or Centennial. Dan spent nearly 20 years as a projects coordinator at commercial flooring companies, including Building Systems, Inc. where he made many life-long friends. Dan spent most of his pastoral career at South Holly Baptist Church. He served 19 years at South Holly, the longest serving pastor at that church to date. Dan retired after his years at South Holly and spent his retirement as a member of the Airport Boulevard Baptist Church and as interim Pastor at Smoky Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching and cheering on his beloved Rockies and Broncos, reading and studying the Bible, and enjoying the freedom that retirement brought along with it.

Dan was a full-time pastor for most of his life and he loved his church family with all his heart.

Daniel is survived by his two children: Daniel (Stephanie) Williams of Littleton, CO and Joshua (Andrea) Williams of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Daniel is also survived by his four grandchildren, Jackson, Tyler, Tatum and Aubrey Williams, sister Jean Williams, brother John Williams, niece Dawn (Sean) Nelson and their children Robin (Devin) Jansen, Heather (Nick) Weyand, Josh (Martha) Leal, Amber Nelson, and by his wife, Shirley Williams. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Williams, and parents, Alma and Stanley Williams.

A memorial service will be held at the Airport Boulevard Baptist Church, 1000 Airport Blvd, Aurora, CO, on Thursday, July 1 at 1:00 p.m. The church will also offer a Facebook Live Stream on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/airportblvdbaptist.
