Pastor P. Gutierrez

Pastor John Perez Gutierrez, 93, of Denver Colorado died Saturday, September 21, 2019. He was born to late Jose Gutierrez and Clemencia Perez, Nov. 23, 1925, in Georgetown, Texas. Siblings include Lilly Rangel, Victor Gutierrez, Lupe Gutierrez and Antonia Duran.

John enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1944 - 1946 as a coxswain (steersman of a ship). He met his wife Refugia Onofre in San Antonio, Texas and got married on May 29, 1950. They had eight children; MaryJane Pelino, John Gutierrez Jr., Rachel Flores, Christine Hernandez, Viola Vasquez, Irene Gutierrez, Valentine Gutierrez and Adeline Broker. They had a total of 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. John loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

John retired from the City and County of Denver with 18 years of service as an Equipment Operator. He was a good provider, a spiritual father and loving husband and dad. Most importantly he was a faithful servant of God. He was active in church and became a pastor. He traveled to various states to preach the salvation of Jesus Christ. Serving God was what he lived for, it was his passion. He will be greatly missed!
